Animator

This application can be used to create animations. These can be anything from slide shows created by importing multiple images to complex line art animations. Animator can also be used to convert animation files from one format to another.

Features

• Easy to use, just draw and then click on the '+' to create a new frame!

  Quick to learn but with many useful features to enable you to save time and create more complex animations.

• Import images to use as backgrounds or to create slide shows.

  Have a pre-made graphic you want to use, either as a background or as part of a slide show animation? This can be done easily with the import function! Images are smartly resized to fit the animation canvas. Images in the QOI format are supported too!

• Onion skin feature for easier creation of line animations.

  Draw your outline, move to the next frame and with the onion skin feature, you can trace over the previous frame to give your animation a unique style!

• Supported File Formats

  Animator can save and load your creations in standard formats:

  • AVI Video
    No custom file formats. The default save format is 24bit uncompressed AVI. Animations created can easily be imported into other more advanced applications. The MSVC1 format is also support for loading projects

  • Autodesk FLI/FLC
    The previous version defaulted to saving and opening Autodesk FLI/FLC files, these files are still supported!

• Export Options

  Animator can export your creation to a variety of common (and uncommon) formats to publish or use in other applications. Currently supported export formats included:

  • Animated GIF (Windows Only)
    You can now export your animations as Animated GIF's! Easily share your creations on your website and social media!

  • Autodesk FLI/FLC
    Although no longer the default save format, animations in this format can still be opened and exported to. Files exported are compatible with VLC media player!

  • Cybiko Video
    Animator can now export to the Cybiko CVC video format! Videos are resized if necessary and error diffusion is used to improve the 4 colour gray image! Find out more about Cybiko Videos

• Compatible and free!

  The Java version should run on any computer than has Java installed including Windows, Apple and Linux PC's! There is also a version specifically for Window PC's that have .Net installed! Completely free to use which also means no risk if you find you don't like it!

Despite the different version numbers, the Windows and Java versions are virtually identical. The number really just indicates bugs found and fixed...
